COJIL Inc. Inspirational Forum

Event Focus – Fitness, Nutrition, and Finding Personal Passion. Speakers inspired the attendees to become better versions of themselves by consistently committing themselves to be physically fit, make better healthy choices of their meals, and finding the personal passion that leads to self-actualization

Let's Get Better Together Day

Being physically active was one of Coach Iwuaba’s passion for his family and friends. The benefit is enormous. Being physically active has the potential to improve our brain-health, help manage our weight, reduce the risk of disease, strengthen bone and muscles, and improve our ability to do every day activities. Attendees engaged in circuit physical training to the best of their respective abilities. Children, adults, men, and women had first-hand experience in taking their first step to physical fitness. They were reminded that any one young or old, who sit less and do any amount of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity gain more health benefits.

Quarterlife Crisis Forum

This event focused on dealing with common stressors for quarter-life crises for ages 18 to 30 years old adults. According to Bradley University, this is a period of uncertainty and questioning that typically occurs when people feel trapped, uninspired, and disillusioned during their mid-20s to early 30s. People may feel that they are stuck in a dead-end job while all of their friends advance their careers or wonder why they cannot seem to make a romantic relationship last when other members of their social group are getting married and having children. The event addressed the common stressors that can lead to this kind of crisis. It also provided the attendees with the necessary coping strategies or skills to deal with them as their needs arise.

Thanksgiving Food Drive

Another passion that Coach Iwuaba had was to ensure that people make healthy meal choices by helping in feeding the hungry American with nutritious meals. Thanks to donations and support from local nonprofit organizations and individuals, COJIL Inc. was able to give back to the community during thanksgiving season. The Focus as Giving Back – Feeding the Hungry with nutritious food items. In collaboration with Abundant Grace Christian Center, coupled with funds raised by the volunteers, local nonprofit partners and a local San Diego Gas and Electric Outreach department, attendees received baskets full of thanksgiving nutritious meals and gift cards to purchase other necessary items to celebrate thanksgiving with the rest of us.

Back to School Drive

Back to school is the period in which students and their parents purchase school supplies and apparel for the upcoming school year. This Incorporation noted that although there are sales at department stores, the additional expense to many families’ income, serves as stressors for low-income families. Crucially, immigrants and refugees who have large families get the worst of the bargain. COJIL Inc focused on this event to provide free school supplies for the children. About fifty attendees had the privilege to pick up all the supplies they needed to be successful in their academic pursuits.

Singles & Couple Event

This event focused on marriage. Attendees learned how to deal with the waiting period, discern who would be their potential life partners, and about the strategies to cope with the relationship waiting seasons. Through statistical data and personal experiences; the speakers helped everyone to use their waiting period to get themselves ready for the many years of marriage and to live happily forever after. Everyone present was encouraged to prepare for the  dream one-day wedding but most importantly, to prepare for a happily-ever-after marital relationship with their chosen spouses.

Small Business Fair

The focus was to build strong bonds and relationships among local small businesses. Small business owners showcased their businesses and learned about diverse business ideas. Attendees learned how to set up cleaning, t-shirt printing, embroidery, fashion, and restaurant businesses. Lights of ideas were ignited, shared, and learned.
